Zafir Williams Scores 29 as Pioneers Knock Off Western Oregon for Second Straight Win, 85-72

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. — Senior forward Zafir Williams scored a game-high 29 points with eight rebounds and two blocks, lifting the Cal State East Bay men's basketball team to a victory over Western Oregon, 85-72, on Friday night on the campus of Sonoma State.

Williams shot 13-of-23 from the field and made three 3-pointers to finish just two points shy of his career of 31 points against Holy Names on Nov. 8, 2019.

Junior guard Kaito Williams continued his good start to the season by scoring 11 points with six rebounds, and senior guard Jesse Galloway finished with five points and eight assists.

Forwards Josh Dhatt and Tone Patton also scored in double figures with 10 points apiece, while senior forward Justin Vigil and freshman guard DJ Sanders both scored eight points.

The Pioneers led by seven at halftime and were ahead by as many as 19 points in the second half.

CSUEB (2-2) resumes this weekend's action against Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday, Nov. 20, beginning at 2 p.m.
