The Champs Are Here! Pioneers Top Sonoma State, 2-1, to Win 2021 CCAA Championship

POMONA, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's soccer team defeated No. 1-seeded Sonoma State in the 2021 CCAA Tournament Championship Match on Sunday afternoon at Kellogg Stadium.

Sophomore Payton Heaney tied the scored 1-1 with a break-away goal in the 61st minute, and junior Kelsey Pena scored the game winner exactly two minutes later in the 63rd. CSUEB (11-5-4) erased a 1-0 deficit early in the second half.

It's the first-ever CCAA Tournament Championship for the Pioneers in their first appearance. CSUEB will find out where it heads next at the NCAA Selection show on Monday, Nov. 15, beginning at 3 p.m. You can watch the selection show here
