HAYWARD, Calif. —
The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team begins its 2021-22 season this weekend at the CCAA-GNAC Crossover against Northwest Nazarene on Friday, Nov. 12 beginning at 5 p.m., before taking on Central Washington on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m.

Both contests will be played at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena on the campus of Stanislas State in Turlock, Calif., and will streamed live as well as live audio. 

CSUEB was picked to finish third in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Preseason Coaches Poll on Oct. 27. The Pioneers received 121 points and two first-place votes to finish well ahead of fourth-place Cal State LA (86). 

Despite not playing any games during the 2020-21 season, CSUEB received votes in the Division II Sports Information Directors Association (D2SIDA) West Region Preseason poll.

The Pioneers finished the 2019-20 campaign with a 18-12 overall record en route to reaching the CCAA Semifinals for the fifth time in the last six years. In the process, guard Madison Schiller earned second-team All-CCAA honors after averaging 9.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.
