HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay volleyball team looks to build off its recent momentum as it resumes conference play at home this week. The Pioneers play host to Sonoma State on Thursday, Oct. 7 beginning at 7 p.m., before taking on Humboldt State on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.

Both matches will be streamed live on the CCAA Network, and live stats will be available.

CSUEB (6-8, 1-5 CCAA) has won three of its last four matches against Sonoma State (6-7, 4-2), and three in a row against the Seawolves at Pioneer Gym. 

The Pios are 15-5 all-time against Humboldt State (3-6, 2-4), with four-straight wins against the Lumberjacks and seven in a row versus HSU at home.

East Bay is coming off a 3-1 home victory over Chico State on Oct. 2, which was its first conference win of the season. Freshman Alexandria Gloria led the way with a team-high 15 kills to go along with nine digs, junior Breyan Ashley recorded a season-high six blocks with 10 kills and redshirt freshman setter Megan Crecelius finished with 36 assists. 

It was the Pioneers' fourth win in its last six contests against Chico State (5-9, 1-5), as East Bay has now won five of its last seven meetings with the Wildcats at Pioneer Gym.

Ashley leads CSUEB this season with 202 points, 163, 26 blocks and 145 digs, while sophomore Mia Jordan's 131.5 points, 114 kills and 24 blocks rank second on the squad. Crecelius has amassed a team-high 250 assists, and junior Kara Green's 119 digs are second most on the team.
