East Bay Hangs Tough in Narrow Loss to Cal State San Bernardino, 1-0

HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay men's soccer team fell short in a hard-fought contest against Cal State San Bernardino Friday evening, 1-0, at Pioneer Stadium.

The Pioneers got shots on goal from senior Tommy Flora and freshman Clayton Branco, but couldn't overcome San Bernardino's goal in the 26th minute of the first half. Junior goalkeeper Kelekolio Mateo Jr. recorded three saves in the net.

CSUEB (2-10-1, 1-6 CCAA) returns to action at home on Sunday, Oct. 24, as the Pioneers play host to Cal State San Marcos beginning at 11:30 a.m.
