East Bay Can't Get Over Hump in Defeat to Chico State, 2-0

HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay men's soccer team hung around but couldn't get over the hump late in a defeat to Chico State, 2-0.

Junior Josh Gaeckle recorded a team-high three shots, while junior Mateo Didomenico and sophomore Julian Hodis each had one shot on target. Junior goalkeeper Kelekolio Mateo Jr. tallied nine saves in the net.

CSUEB (2-8-1, 1-4 CCAA) returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 17, as the Pioneers hit the road to face Humboldt State beginning at 2 p.m.
