First-Place Pioneers Welcome in Gators, Seawolves for Two-Game Home Stand

HAYWARD, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team will continue their home stand with pair of California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) contests against San Francisco State and Sonoma State this week.
 
East Bay will face the SF State on Thursday evening, January 16 at 5:30 pm before wrapping up the weekend with a match against Sonoma State on Saturday, January 18 at 1:00 pm. Both games will be played inside Pioneer Gymnasium.
 
The first-place Pioneers are currently carrying a 12-4 overall record with an 8-2 mark in league action. CSUEB is 7-3 all-time at home against SFSU and 6-3 all-time against SSU in Hayward.

  • Schiller has collected a team-high 30 steals on the season, 5th best in the CCAA. She is also averaging 2.9 rebounds on 47.0 percent shooting.
  • Kayley Hsiung tied a career-high with 16 points on 4-of-8 shooting from 3-point range in a win over Monterey Bay.

SCOUTING SAN FRANCISCO STATE
The San Francisco State Gators enter their matchup against East Bay carrying a 1-12 overall record with a 1-9 mark in CCAA play after falling to Chico State and Sonoma State last week. Taimane Lesa-Hardee leads the Gators with 12.1 points and 5.5 rebounds. Ashley Hart is adding 10.8 points and 4.5 rebounds for SF State.
 
SCOUTING SONOMA STATE
The Sonoma State Seawolves come into their weekend meeting with a 10-5 overall showing and a 6-4 conference record after their victory over SF State last week. Ugochi Anudokem leads the Seawolves with 14.3 points and 12.3 rebounds per contest. Kylie Kiech is adding 12.1 points and 4.1 rebounds for Sonoma State.
