East Bay Volleyball Set to Visit Chico & Host SF State This Week

HAYWARD, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay women's volleyball team have a bit of a different week ahead of them. East Bay will open the month of October with another match against Chico State, after hosting the Wildcats on Friday, before wrapping the weekend up with a Bay Bridge matchup against San Francisco State on Saturday evening.
 
The Pioneers are off to a 1-11 start to the season with an 0-4 mark in conference action.
 
Tuesday's match in Chico will be the Pioneers first conference road contest of the 2019 season.

  • The Pioneers went 4-6 in CCAA road matches in 2018.
  • East Bay has racked up more blocks than opponents 78-55.5 on the season.

SCOUTING CHICO STATE
The Chico State Wildcats are atop the North Division Standings with a 7-5 overall mark on the season with a 3-1 record in conference play. The Wildcats defeated East Bay on Friday before falling to San Francisco State to round out the weekend. Kim Wright leads Chico State with 163 kills and 206 total points.
 
SCOUTING SAN FRANCISCO STATE
The San Francisco State Gators are currently 10-3 on the season with a 3-1 showing in CCAA matches after picking up victories over Stanislaus State and Chico State last week. Drew Morris is tops on the Gators with 146 kills and 166 total points scored.
