HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's soccer team had another stellar defensive performance Friday night, playing No. 1-ranked UC San Diego to a scoreless tie, 0-0, at Pioneer Stadium.
CSUEB (1-3-3, 0-0-1 CCAA) has now pitched three-consecutive shutouts and hasn't allowed a goal in its last 321 minutes of game action.
Freshman goalkeeper
Jordan Smith was once again impressive in the net, as the Garderville, Calif., native finished with eight saves. Perhaps the best was a diving stop on a shot from the left side by UC San Diego's Lucy Tang in the 106
th minute.
Senior
Chace Miguel recorded a shot for the Pioneers, while Tang had a team-high three shots on goal for UC San Diego (5-0-1, 0-0-1).
Cal State East Bay returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 29, as the Pioneers play host to Cal State San Marcos beginning at 11:30 a.m.
