HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay men's soccer team dropped a close, hard-fought match to UC San Diego, 1-0, in overtime on Friday night at Pioneer Stadium.
After playing to a scoreless tie through 90 minutes of regulation, UC San Diego's Brett Jones knocked in a diagonal shot from the right side for the Golden Goal in the 95
th minute.

Sean O'Brien finished with eight saves in an outstanding defensive performance for Cal State East Bay (2-4, 0-1 CCAA). The Brea, Calif., native's save on a Aidan Cuevas' shot in the 82
nd minute helped push the contest into overtime.
The Pioneers return to the pitch on Sunday, Sept. 29, when they play host to Cal State San Marcos beginning at 2 p.m.
