Defense Prevails as Women's Soccer Plays Dominican to Tie, 0-0

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's soccer team fought hard in a defensive battle on Saturday afternoon, playing host Dominican to a scoreless tie, 0-0.

It was the second tie of the season for CSUEB (1-3-2), which has gone unbeaten in a two-game stretch this week after defeating Holy Names on Thursday, 5-0.

The Pioneers outshot Dominican 16-11 overall, with a 5-4 edge in shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Jordan Smith played all 110 minutes in the net and finished with four saves.
