NAMPA, IDAHO – The Cal State East Bay women's soccer team concluded their road trip with a 6-2 loss to Northern Nazarene on Saturday afternoon at NNU Soccer Field.
With the loss, East Bay moves to 0-3-1 on the season and 0-2 during their weekend road trip.
The Nighthawks were in control of the game from the opening kick, as the Pioneers found themselves trailing 2-0 after the 22 minutes of play. Northwest Nazarene would score their first goal in the eighth minute from Makayla Roggow and Magda Wronski. The Nighthawks would then get the first of four goals from Rikki Myers in the 22nd minute to claims a 2-0 lead.
Northwest Nazarene would end up added two more scores including a score just as time expired for the halftime intermission. The Nighthawks would take a 4-0 advantage into the halftime break.
The the Pioneers would continue to battle back into the match as
Lauren McDougal scored his first goal of the afternoon on an assist from
Jill Nelsen in the 70th minute. That would make the game 4-1.
The Nighthawks tacked on two more scores within a span of six minutes to make it a 6-1 contest. Both goals came from Rikki Myers.
Lauren McDougal closed out the scoring in the match with another goal in the 86th minute on a pass from
Ally Smith. When the final horned sounded the Nighthawks collected a 6-2 victory over the Pioneers.
Lauren McDougal notched a team-best six shots, with three shot coming on goal and two goals scored.
Riley Spitzer and
Chace Miguel each finished with three shots apiece. Spitzer tallied one shot on goal while Miguel fired two shots at the goal.

Kayla Morales,
Eliana Mendoza,
Annika Blom all compiled one shot attempt each.
Briana Vasquez-Ortiz got her first action in goal this season and ended the game with a season-best five saves.
The Pioneers will return to action with a home contest against Holy Names on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
