GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The Cal State East Bay men's golf team closed out the regular season with a strong showing this week to finish tied for sixth out of 23 teams at the Western New Mexico Mustang Intercollegiate.
The course at Palm Valley Golf Club was giving out lots of low scores over the last two days and the Pioneers took advantage. They shot 283 (-5) in Tuesday's final round to finish the 54-hole tournament at 853 (-11). It's the squad's lowest team score of the season, and it's the first time they have been under par in three straight rounds. 
The No. 4 ranked team in the West Region had three individuals finish under par as well. 
Jonathan Mulvany closed out the best tournament of his CSUEB career with a 74 to finish seven strokes under par for the week. The senior earned a share of sixth place in the individual field.
Fellow senior 
Will Barnett finished strong, carding East Bay's lowest round of the day with a 68. He moved up 21 spots on the leaderboard in the final round to finish just outside the top-10 at 211 (-5). 
Greg Smith also had his best round of the week on Tuesday with a 69, as he moved 27 spots into the top-30. 
Below are CSUEB's final individual scores. The Pioneers now a have a week off to prepare for conference championships and will head to Monterey for to play for the CCAA title Apr. 22-24.
