The game was tied on 12 separate occasions with 17 lead changes. The score was knotted 51-51 with 2:44 left to play before two free throws by Stanislaus State's Ty Davis and a layup inside by Xavier Francois gave the Warriors a four-point edge.Â
Carlisle quickly responded with a 3-pointer off the dribble to cut the deficit to one, but Cameron Browne's jumper with 45 left put Stan State ahead, 57-54.
The Pioneers outrebounded the Warriors 35-26, and held Stanislaus State to just 2-of-12 from 3-point range.
Cal State East Bay will return to action following the holidays, as it hits the road to face Cal State San Marcos on Jan. 2, followed by a showdown at UC San Diego on Jan. 4.
