OAKLAND — The Cal State East Bay men's basketball team continued its impressive start to the season on Saturday with a neutral-site victory over Notre Dame de Namur, 78-58, at Tobin Gymnasium.

Zafir Williams posted his second-straight double-double to begin the year, finishing with a game-high 22 points with 10 rebounds on 9-of-16 shooting from the field.Â

Ant Navarrete recorded 10 points with 13 rebounds.

The Pioneers led by as many as 24 in the second half before cruising to the victory.
Warren finished with nine points on 3-of-7 shooting from 3-point range, and Galloway had six points with team-best seven assists and three steals.Â
The Pioneers had a 43-29 rebounding advantage, including a 14-4 margin in offensive boards. CSUEB also had 23 assists as a team and used smothering defense to force Notre Dame de Namur (0-2) into 18 turnovers.
Cal State East Bay returns to action for its home opener against Academy of Art on Tuesday, Nov. 12, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
