LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay women's soccer team opened their California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) road trip with a, 0-0 draw against the Cal State L.A. Golden Eagles on Thursday afternoon, October 4 at University Stadium.

With the scoreless draw the Pioneers move to 5-4-2 record on the year with a 0-3-2 mark in conference action. It was CSUEB's second consecutive game going into extra minutes and just the second contest of the season in which they failed to score a goal.

The host Golden Eagles held the shot advantage over the Pioneers by a count of 19 to 15. Seven of Cal State L.A. shots come on goal to just five shots on goal from Cal State East Bay.

Sophomore
Lauren McDougal (Elk Grove, Calif.) paced the Pioneers with seven shots, including four shots on goal.
Abby Buitrago (San Jose, Calif.) tallied three shots and senior
Savannah Schultz (Folsom, Calif.) put up two shots.
Allison Smith (Elk Grove, Calif.),
Miranda Gonzalez (Santa Rosa, Calif.) and
Michelle Silva (Hanford, Calif.) all attempted one shot apiece.

Freshman
Briana Vasquez-Ortiz (Long Beach, Calif.) logged all 110 minutes in the box and compiled seven saves. She now has five shutouts on the season.

The Pioneers will continue their CCAA road trip with a match against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday afternoon, October 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Toro Stadium.
