Despite the loss to a great Sonoma State team, head coach
Amy Gerace was proud of her team's effort and fight.
"Sonoma is a quality team, we caught ourselves chasing the game a bit the first half and gave up a goal that we can do a better job defending against," Gerace said. "The second half we settled in and played a little more composed, had some good opportunities but weren't able to equalize. This team remains a team that is committed, passionate and will continue to get better with each week of training and with game experience. We're excited to get Bri back this week and head down to So. Cal for another weekend of competition against two quality teams."
The Pioneers will travel south for two conference games against Cal Poly Pomona on Friday, September 22 and Sunday, September 24 agaisnt Cal State San Bernardino.
