HAYWARD, Calif. – The Cal State East Bay men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback loss to California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) opponent Sonoma State on Sunday afternoon, September 17 in Pioneer Stadium.
It was the third consecutive loss for the Pioneers as they move to 2-4-1 on the season and 0-2 in conference action.
The Seawolves dictated the pace of the match from the opening kick as the Pioneers only attempted seven shots to 15 from Sonoma State including seven attempts at the frame.
Freshman
Jared Simarago paced the Pioneers with three shots on the afternoon, his career best while as an East Bay Pioneer.

TJ Butler each attempted one shot apiece for CSUEB.
Sonoma State scored two goals early in the 7th and 30th minutes of play to take a 2-0 advantage at the intermission. The Seawolves would put in their final goal of the match in the 85th minute to come away with the 3-0 victory.

Omar Coronel each saw 45:00 minutes of game action for CSUEB. The duo logged two saves each for the Pioneers.
East Bay will head to Southern California for a two game CCAA road trip against Cal Poly Pomona on Friday, September 22 and Sunday, September 24 versus Cal State San Bernardino.
