HAYWARD, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay men's soccer team concluded their non-conference schedule was a 3-0 loss to visiting Westminster College on Sunday afternoon, September 10 at Pioneer Stadium.

CSUEB moves to 2-2-1 with the loss and 2-2 in Pioneer Stadium on the season thus far.

From kickoff the Griffins controlled the tempo of the game and did a great job of neutralizing the East Bay offensive attack. East Bay finished with just two shots for the entire match as compared to 15 from the Griffins.

The Pioneers shots came from seniors
Evan Sanchez, who had the lone shot at the frame for CSUEB, and
TJ Butler.

The Griffins scored their first goal in the 36th minute of play to claim a 1-0 advantage at the intermission. Westminster then put in goals in the 55th and 74th minutes of action to come away with the 3-0 victory.

Sophomore goalkeeper
Carlos Moreno got the start for East Bay and collected a career best eight saves for the Pioneers.

East Bay will begin California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action with home games against Humboldt State on Friday, September 15 at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, September 17 at 2:00 p.m. Both matches will be held at Pioneer Stadium.
