HAYWARD, Calif.,-- The Pioneer women's basketball team remained undefeated inside Pioneer Gymnasium this season with a 79-69 victory over Chico State Saturday evening, December 16.

It was just Cal State East Bay's second game played in Hayward city limits this season. With the win the Pioneers move to 6-5 overall on the season and 3-3 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) competition.

The Pioneers were connecting on all cylinders as they knocked down 11 three-points field goals on 61.1% accuracy for the contest. Their 11 made three-pointers is the second highest mark of the 2017-18 season.

Senior guard
Janae Chamois (Eastvale, Calif.) led CSUEB going 5-for-7 from three-point land while scoring 17 points, grabbing two rebounds and dishing out two assists in 34 minutes. Chamois also went a perfect 2-for-2 from the foul line.

East Bay was stout defensively as they held the Wildcats to just 39.7% (23-for-58) shooting from the floor and 36.4% (4-for-11) from beyond the three-point arc. The Pioneers shot a season-best 58.7% (27-for-46) from the field for the game. East Bay also went 14-for-17 from the charity stripe for a season-best 82.4%.

Sophomore
Morgan Greene (Phoenix, Ariz.) eighth double-double of the season as she compiled 18 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. She went 8-for-10 from the floor with picking up a steal in 34 minutes on the court. Greene now has 10 double figures scoring outputs and nine games of at least 10 rebounds.

Chico State scored 27 points off 21 East Bay turnovers and outscored the Pioneers 32-26 inside the painted area. CSUEB did outrebounded Chico State 32-24 for the game. The Wildcats received 31 points from their reserve players to just 16 from the Pioneer reserves.

Junior guard
Elayshia Woolridge (Oakland, Calif.) tallied 18 points to go along with a game high seven assists. She also led the Pioneers with two steals with corralling two rebounds in 28 minutes. Woolridge is leading Cal State East Bay with 15.4 points and 4.0 assists in conference action. She has scored in double figure in seven games this season.

Sophomore guard
Kayley Hsiung (Bakersfield, Calif.) notched her second double digit scoring effort of the season with 10 points on 3-for-5 shooting from the floor with two assists and a steal. Hsiung went an impressive 3-for-3 from the free throw line.

Senior guard
Bri Guillory (Long Beach, Calif.) led East Bay with eight points in 16 minutes off the bench.

Whitney Branham led Chico State with 17 points and four rebounds while Jo Paine added 15 points and four rebounds off the bench for the Wildcats.

East Bay will play their final game of the 2017 calendar year when they host West Region non-conference opponent California Baptist on Tuesday afternoon, December 19 in Pioneer Gymnasium.
