TURLOCK, Calif. -- After having last weekend at home against Cal State Monterey Bay postponed due to rain and Friday's doubleheader at Stanislaus State postponed because of precipitation, the Pioneers returned to action Saturday and came up on the wrong end of a doubleheader sweep.
 The Pioneers lost game one after leading 4-3 heading to the bottom of the sixth, but the Warriors struck for three in the sixth and won 6-4. Junior
Ali Cerminara went 2 for 2 with her third home run of the season and three RBI's in game two, but it wasn't enough as the Warriors claimed victory 6-3. East Bay falls to 3-7 in the CCAA and 6-10 overall. The Warriors improved to 10-8 in conference and 13-10 overall.
GAMEÂ ONE: Stanislaus State 6, Cal State East Bay 4:The Pioneers fell behind 3-1 after four innings in the opener, but would come roaring back in the fifth. The Pioneers loaded the bases with one out when junior
Marisa Lerma hit a sacrifice fly to get East Bay to 3-2. Cerminara came up next and singled to score senior
Rose Marston to tie the game. The Pioneers weren't done yet as they took a one-run lead on another RBI single, this time by senior
Sierra Clark. Clark led the Pioneers at the plate in the game, going 2 for 3 with the RBI.
The lead would hold until the nightmare sixth inning that saw the Warriors score three runs with two outs for a 6-4 lead heading to the Pioneers last at bats. East Bay would go down in order in the seventh and suffer a tough loss in the opener.
East Bay managed three earned runs on seven hits against Stanislaus starting pitcher, Kylie Ragsdale. Clark started in the circle and took the loss (4-3).
GAME TWO: Stanislaus State 6, Cal State East Bay 4:Cerminara got the scoring started in the first when she reached on an error by right fielder Morgan Balestreri to score Marston and give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead.
The third home run of the year by Cerminara in the third inning scored sophomore
Ashley Allen and East Bay had a nice 3-0 advantage.
The Pioneers couldn't get the shutdown inning in the home half of the third as the Warriors put two on the board to close the lead to one. Stanislaus would tie the game in the fourth and take the lead for good in the fifth and end up with a 6-3 decision.
Lerma impressed at the plate in the second game going 2 for 4. Senior
Tatiana Beilstein got the start for the Pioneers and took the loss.
Cal State East Bay returns home to start an eight-game homestand Friday against Cal State Dominguez Hills.
First pitch in the doubleheader against the Toros is set for 1:00 P.M.Â
