GAME ONE: Cal State East Bay 3, Holy Names 1-The opener of the doubleheader was scoreless through three innings when the Pioneers cracked the seal on the scoring when
Ashley Allen doubled to left field to plate
Courtney Leyba. Leyba got on base by laying down a terrific bunt single. Leyba then stole second to get herself in scoring position and Allen did the rest to give CSUEB the 1-0 lead.
Clark and the Pioneer defense were able to keep the Hawks off the board until CSUEB added two insurance runs in the sixth.
With the bases loaded and one out,
Ali Cerminara singled up the middle to score
Mia Ramirez to make it 2-0. The third run came on the very next batter when Clark drew a based loaded walk to score Leyba.
