SAN BERNARDINO, Calif – The Cal State East Bay women's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking double overtime loss on the road to California Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAA) opponent Cal State San Bernardino on Friday evening at Premier Field Complex.
This was the third consecutive overtime match for the Pioneer women. CSUEB (2-6-3, 1-4-0 CCAA) IS 1-1-1 in those overtime games.
East Bay jumped on the out to an early 1-0 lead when senior
Tia Sidtikun put in a goal through a mess of people from the right side off of a corner kick in the 7th minute of play. She was assisted on the goal by fellow senior
Andrea Hernandez.
For Sidtikun, it was her second goal of the season.
San Bernardino (5-5-1, 4-2-1 CCAA) answered in the 17th minute of action when Rachael Figg put in her fourth goal of the year. Megan Todd was awarded the assist on the goal.
The game remained tied after regulation play and the first set of extra minutes ended as both team displayed stellar defense in the second half.
The Coyote women's golden goal was scored by Susan Ibarra in the 108th minute to seal the game for CSUSB. Todd again was credited with the assist.
Cal State San Bernardino lead East Bay with a 17-6 shot advantage, but the Pioneer women played more aggressively at the goal only being outshot on goal 6-4.
Senior goalkeeper
Jasmine Corbett led CSUEB with four saves on the evening.
Tia Sidtikun led East Bay with with two shots on goal.

Andrea Hernandez,
Savannah Schultz and
Rachel Robbert all tallied one shot apiece.
The Pioneer women will continue their CCAA road slate with a matchup against Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday afternoon October 9 at Kellogg Field. The game will begin at 11:30 a.m. PT.
