Sidtikun Scores Twice in Win Over San Francisco State

HAYWARD, Calif – Senior Tia Sidtikun scored twice, including the golden goal in Cal State East Bay Pioneer women's soccer team's 2-1 double overtime road victory over California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) rival San Francisco State on Thursday afternoon.
 
With the win CSUEB snapped a four game losing skid and improved to 3-8 CCAA and 4-10-3 overall. It was also the first multi-goal performance of Tia Sidtikun's East Bay career.
 
The Pioneer women lit up the scoreboard first when Sidtikun put in a goal past the goalkeeper from close range in the 18th minute. She was assisted on the goal by Jessey Santos.
 
The Gators would even the score at 1-1 late in the second half when Natasha Gosiaco in the 80th minute.
 
In double overtime, Sidtikun put in the decisive goal from 18 yards out in the 100th minutes of game action.
 
East Bay was outshot by SF State 23-15 and 5-4 on goal, but the Pioneer women led the overtime shot advantage 6-1.   
 
The senior duo of Megan Ravenscroft and Sialei Manuleleua paced East Bay with four shots each.
 
Sidtikun only attempted two shots and found the goal on both of her tries.
 
Janis Gamboa, Andrea Hernandez, Savannah Schultz, Aulani Fernandez and Nicole Stamper all took one shot apiece. Hernandez and Fernandez added one shot on goal.
 
Senior goalkeeper Jasmine Corbett finished the match with four saves.
 
East Bay women's soccer Head Coach Amy Gerace, who is in her was proud of how her team was able to control the momentum of the game and the team's over mindset during today's game.
 
"I'm really proud of the team mentality and tenacity today. We were able to control a good portion of the game in the first half, said Gerace. We lost some momentum in the second half but came out with a lot of desire in the OT period to finish the game. Tia, again continues to be such a great leader with her play and leadership. She was exceptional today and it shows with the two goals she was able to score."
 
The Pioneer women will complete their 2016 regular season with a trip to faceoff against Bay Area rival Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday, October 29. The game will begin at 11:30 a.m. in CSUMB Soccer Complex.
