HAYWARD, Calif – Junior
Christian Gonzalez scored the Pioneers lone goal in Cal State East Bay's 6-1 setback on the road against California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Bay Area rival San Francisco State on Thursday afternoon.
It was Gonzalez's third goal of the 2016 season as CSUEB drops to 2-7-2 in CCAA action and 6-9-2 overall.
The Gators claimed a 1-0 late in the first half on a goal from Francisco Saucedo in the 37th minute.
SF State would score the next five goals to start the second half, with two goals coming from Marco Ruelas, another score by Saucedo, and scores by KJ Ahlo and Jordan Wusstig.
Christian Gonzalez finally lit up the scoreboard in favor of the Pioneers after scoring a goal off of his own miss in the 84th minute of game play.
The Gators held a 27-12 shot advantage over East Bay, including a 10-6 shot on goal edge.
Gonzalez drove the Pioneer attack with three shots, with two attempts on goal.
Kalvin Conley added two shots, including one shot on goal.

Cal State East Bay will complete their 2016 regular season when they head on the road to square off against Bay Area rival Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday, October 29. The game will begin at 2:30 p.m. in CSUMB Soccer Complex.
