HAYWARD, Calif – The Cal State East Bay Pioneer women battled the Chico State Wildcats to a 2-0 setback defeat Sunday afternoon. The teams went head-to-head in despicable weather conditions at Pioneer Stadium.
With the loss, the Pioneer women see their California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) record drop to 2-6 and 3-8-3 overall. The Wildcats improve to 7-7-1 and 3-7 in conference action.
Chico State outshot East Bay 6-5, taking the shot on goal advantage 4-2 as well. CSUEB finished with six corner kicks compared to just one from the Wildcats. East Bay committed three fouls while drawing two from Chico State.
The Wildcats gained the lead on a goal by Carlie Reader in the 30th minute of play. The Pioneers would continue to exhibit solid defense throughout the rest of the game. Chico State put in the final goal of the game when Lindsey Dias scored on a header in the 73rd minute. She was assisted by Emily Curry.

Tia Sidtikun had two shots to lead the Pioneers.
Megan Ravenscroft, Carsyn Hoogendorn and
Savannah George all had one shot each.
East Bay will continue its final home stand of the 2016 season with a matchup against Cal State San Marcos on Friday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
