TURLOCK, Calif – The Cal State East Bay women's soccer team completed its California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) road trip with a 3-1 setback at Stanislaus State on Wednesday afternoon.
The Pioneer women (3-7-3, 2-5-0 CCAA) finished 1-1-1 in during their three game road conference slate.
The Warriors (8-5, 2-5 CCAA) lit up the board early on a Rayana Plancarte on a header in the 3rd minute.
CSUEB would answer when freshman
Jamie McPherson put in a shot from 18 yards out in the 32nd minute of action. She was assisted on the goal by senior
Andrea Hernandez.
It was the the first goal of McPherson's CSUEB career.
Stanislaus State would add two more goals in the second half in the 36th and 60th minute by Gabby Squarcia and Jade Poon.
Both team tied with 11 shots total as the Warriors claimed the shot on goal advantage 5-3.
Seniors
Megan Ravenscroft and
Andrea Hernandez led CSUEB with two shots apiece. McPherson,
Savannah Schultz and
Sialei Manuleleua each tallied one shot apiece.
Freshman goalkeeper
Cheyanne Foster led the Pioneer women with two saves during the match.
Cal State East Bay women's soccer will return to action on Sunday, October 16 when they host the visiting Chico State Wildcats. The match will begin on at 11:30 am at Pioneer Stadium.
