Victories this weekend inside Pioneer Gymnasium against Sonoma State and San Francisco State would go a long way towards the hopes of securing the program's fourth straight trip to the league tourney.

The Seawolves took the lead with 13 minutes left in regulation and held on to the end. Taylor Acosta led SSU with 16 points.
WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSECal State East Bay has outscored Sonoma State 128-83 in the past two games played inside Pioneer Gymnasium. This season the Pioneers are 7-3 at home and are holding the opposition to less than 59 points per contest.
LICKING THEIR WOUNDSSonoma State has hit hard times dropping eight straight contests. The team's last win was against Cal State East Bay over a month ago when both the Seawolves and Pioneers were 4-2 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play.
IN SOUREK WE TRUSTHannah Sourek leads Sonoma State averaging 13.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in 14 CCAA games. She is shooting better than 48 percent from the field while the rest of the squad is shooting just over 33 percent.
PAINTING A DIFFERENT PICTURECal State East Bay allowed Sonoma State to score 38 points in the paint during its Jan. 3 loss. It equaled the most points in the paint by an East Bay opponent this season. After surrendering 38 points in the paint to Cal Poly Pomona earlier this season, the Pioneers held the Broncos to just 20 this past Saturday while avenging their earlier defeat.
Cal St. East Bay vs. San Francisco State (Preview)NOT TOO LONG AGOSan Francisco State (0-18, 0-12 CCAA) is looking for its first win of the season with its first chance on Friday at Cal State Monterey Bay. The last non-exhibition win for the Gators came against then nationally ranked No. 14 Cal Poly Pomona, 78-63 back on Feb. 15, 2014. SFSU beat the league's current top three teams over a 7-day stretch just one calendar year ago.
NUTHIN' BUT SUTTONMichelle Sutton leads S.F. State averaging 11.4 points per game and 35 minutes of floor time per game. She played all 40 minutes and led the Gators with 15 points, five rebounds, three steals, and one block in the original meeting between these two squads.

She currently holds marks in total points with 832 (7th), 260 field goals made (10th), 75 3-point field goals made (9th), 237 free throws made (3rd), 170 assists (9th), and 118 steals (10th). Walker will also join the blocks and rebounds lists following her next rejection and board.
