Chico State doesn't play its conference opener until Friday, when they travel to San Francisco State. In their last game, they defeated non-conference opponent Saint Martin's 76-59 on Sunday at Western Oregon's tournament. The win helped the Wildcats remain undefeated at 4-0 for the season.
Brian Fogel is in his eighth season as Chico State's head coach and saw his team finish the 2014-15 season in eighth place in the CCAA with a 7-15 record (10-16 overall).
The young Wildcats only feature one senior on their roster and are led in scoring by sophomore Whitney Braham at 11.5 points per game. Senior Brooke Bowen is a key contributor as well, averaging 10.8 points a game. Sophomore Natalie Valenzuela is the Wildcats' leading rebounder, grabbing 5.8 a contest.
After hosting Chico State, the Pioneers play four of their next five games at home during December, culminating with a New Year's Day showdown with San Francisco State.
