Jack Pasquini had 16 points on 6-13 from the field and seven rebounds in a 91-76 defeat to Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego on Saturday night. The loss drops the Pioneer men's basketball team's record to 1-2, while the Sea Lions are now 2-2.
Down 7-6 in the first half, the Pioneers saw the Sea Lions go on a 12-0 run to make it 19-6 with 11:02 left before halftimef. The Pioneers would claw back to a 22-16 deficit with 7:25 left in the first, but the Sea Lions would go on another 7-0 spurt to make it 29-16.
The Pioneers would end up going to the locker room down 42-26. East Bay out-scored Point Loma in second half, 50-49, but it was not enough to erase their deficit.

Jalen Richard had 19 points on 5-8 shooting in 32 minutes and has led the Pioneers in scoring all three games this season. Junior
Pierre Carter scored in double-figures for the first time this season, going for 11 points on 4-7 shooting in 33 minutes off the bench. Senior
Alex Carmon added 10 points in 27 minutes.

Paramvir Singh made the most of the seven minutes he played, pouring in seven points and grabbing six rebounds.
The Sea Lions were red shot on this night, shooting 56.8 percent (25-44) from the field, compared to 38.6 percent for the Pioneers (22-57). East Bay hit on 35.7 percent of its shots from beyond the three-point line (5-14), but the Sea Lions could barely miss, knocking down 14-of-19 for 73.9 percent.
The Pioneers out rebounded the Sea Lions, 34-30, and their bench was active, outscoring the Sea Lion bench, 31-18.
Next up, Cal State East Bay continues non-conference play by taking on Simpson University on Friday at the Mac Martin Invitational in Chico. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
