ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- Junior 
Chad Hall shined for the second straight week to lead the Cal State East Bay men's golf team to an eighth place finish at the Sonoma State Fall Invitational. The Pioneers shot 305 (+17) in Tuesday's final round at Foxtail Golf Club's North Course to finish at 897 (+33) overall.
The Pioneers ended up 25 strokes behind the host Seawolves, who captured the team championship. Dominican was four strokes back in second place. East Bay finished ahead of conference rival Cal State Dominguez Hills (+53), but was edged out by Cal State San Bernardino (+30) and UC San Diego (+30). 
Scores were higher across the board on Tuesday, but the Pioneers still got strong performances from their core of juniors. Hall shot 76 (+4) in the final round and was East Bay's highest finisher for the tournament, sharing 11th place at 219 (+3). 
Fellow newcomer 
Owen Hutchison was right behind him, tied for 17th at 221 (+5) for the week. He fired the Pioneers' lowest round of the day with a 75 (+3). 
Juniors 
Adam Stone and 
Connor Lawrence both carded 77 (+5) on Tuesday for the third and fourth CSUEB team scores. Stone finished in the top half of the 69-golfer field, tied for 26th overall at 224 (+8). Lawrence ended up with a share of 43rd place at 233 (+17). 
Sophomore 
Ignacio Ognian rounded out East Bay's day in Sonoma County with an 84 (+12), giving him a total of 245 (+29) and putting him in a tie for 63rd place.
Next week, the Pioneer men conclude their fall schedule at the tournament of another conference foe. Cal State Monterey Bay's Otter Invitational is scheduled for Oct. 19-20 at Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside, Calif.
