Pioneer Pool • Hayward, Calif.Live Video HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay swimming will host Azusa Pacific on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. It is the first meet at Pioneer Pool in over three months since the season opener against Mills on Oct. 10.
Saturday will be the fourth competition for Cal State East Bay since New Year's 2015. Azusa Pacific last competed as a team at the Winter Invitational in the city of Commerce on Dec. 14, 2014.
Both of these squads have a common opponent this season having made the trek to Fairbanks, Alaska to take on the Nanooks. Cal State East Bay won both duals by 105-100 and 107-98 margins. The Cougars fell to Alaska 117-88 in back-to-back meets back on Oct. 17-18.
Last season Cal State East Bay defeated Azusa Pacific 203-63 during a double dual meet at Biola. The Pioneers won every event against the Cougars and downed the host Eagles 192-74 in the process.
