TURLOCK, Calif. -- The Cal State East Bay men's golf team took 15th place out of 20 teams at the 41st Hanny Stanislaus Invitational at Turlock Golf and Country Club. With a final round total of 310 (+22) on Tuesday, the Pioneers finished at 922 (+58) overall.
Cal State Monterey Bay won the tournament at +8. Fellow California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) rivals Chico State (+11) and the hosts Cal State Stanislaus (+16) took second and third place, respectively. East Bay finished just two strokes behind Cal State Dominguez Hills and Saint Martin's (+56) in 13th place.
A.J. Hebert led the Pioneers on Tuesday with a final-round 75 (+3). The junior was East Bay's top finisher for the tournament, tying for 29th place with a total score of 227 (+11).
Freshman
Adam Stone finished two strokes behind his teammate at 229 (+13). The native of Lancaster, England carded 79 (+7) in the third round and finished tied for 35th.
Joe Furtado-Foster shot 77 (+5) on Tuesday to close out the tournament at 233 (+17) in a tied for 57th place. The Pioneers' fourth score came from
Joel Keylor, who fired a 79 (+77) in the final round. The sophomore placed 78th with a total of 238 (+22).
Senior
Zain Pervez concluded East Bay's day with a third-round 85 (+13) and took 88th place at 243 (+27).
The Pioneers have completed their regular season schedule and will now prepare for the CCAA Championships on Apr. 22-23 at Brookside Country Club in Stockton, Calif.
