SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- Cal State East Bay junior
Imani Heath earned All-CCAA honors with a 13th place finish at the 2014-15 California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships on Saturday morning. The 6K race was hosted by Cal State San Bernardino on the University's Campus.
Heath clocked in at 22:59.4, one of 13 runners to break the 23-minute mark. She was just 30 seconds behind the individual champion and finished the season as East Bay's top runner in all five meets this fall.
All-Conference awards are presented to the top 15 individual finishers. For Heath, it's the first All-CCAA honors of her career. It's the second straight year the Pioneers have boasted an All-CCAA runner, as Heath joins teammate and 2013 Freshman of the Year
Sarah Perrin.
Junior
Celina Vera placed 60th for East Bay with a time of 24:43.2. She was followed by sophomore
Camille Hansen (24:57.4) in 68th place and senior
Iris Martinez (26:41.2) in 85th.
Two Pioneer runners did not finish the race, so CSUEB did not record a team score. Chico State captured the team championship for the seventh straight year.
