STOCKTON, Calif. – Cal State East Bay won four individual events during Friday's 162-97 road defeat to Division I Pacific at Kjeldsen Pool. Madison Hauanio led the Pioneers with two wins, Makila Schuck and Claire Beaty teamed up to sweep the breaststroke races.

Hauanio and Schuck made it back-to-back event victories for the Pioneers taking the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard breaststroke respectively. Hauanio was the lone swimmer to cover four lengths in under a minute (59.21) and cleared the field by more than one second. Schuck powered past the field over the final 50 yards closing faster than any other swimmer by more than a second during that stretch to finish in 1:08.97.

Beaty and Pacific's Shannon Mack were in a duel throughout the first 150 yards of the 200 breast. Beaty pulled away over the final 50 yards and finished in 2:30.00.

Hauanio ended her day with a dominant win in the 400 IM (4:33.23). She was clear of the field by nearly two full seconds after the first two lengths of butterfly and extended her margin of victory to more than 10 seconds. Hauanio's time in the event is the 11th fastest among all NCAA Division II swimmers following the completion of nationwide competition on Friday.

"We had numerous season-best swims today, which is exactly what we needed to do. Going head-to-head with a strong (NCAA) DI program like Pacific is a perfect challenge for us at this point in the season," said East Bay Head Coach Ben Loorz. "We have the UNLV Invite coming up in Decemberand at that meet we'll need to have the ability to swim very focused races against competitors of all levels. To that end, yesterday's meet was a very successful preparatory step."

Cal State East Bay (4-2) will compete next in the 3-day UNLV Winter Invite starting on Saturday, Dec. 13.
