FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Cal State East Bay swimming travels to the University of Alaska Fairbanks to take on the Nanooks in a pair of dual meets starting on Friday, Nov. 14. The Pioneers were winners of both meets during their biannual trek in 2012 edging UAF 108-96 and 111-93 at Patty Center Pool.

Last season Alaska Fairbanks and Cal State East Bay finished 14th and 15th respectively at the 2014 NCAA National Championships in the women's team competition. The Pioneers return 11 members from that squad including individual All-American Madison Hauanio.

Both teams have been out of competition for a considerable length of time. The Pioneers last competed at UC Santa Cruz on Oct. 25. The Nanooks hosted Azusa Pacific and won both ends of a back-to-back dual on Oct. 17-18.

According to weather.com, the city of Fairbanks is expecting highs of 24 and 21 degrees over the two days of competition, respectively.
