SEASIDE, Calif. --- The Cal State East Bay men's golf team finished in 14th place at the 2013 Otter Invitational following Tuesday's final round at the par-72 Black Horse Golf Course. The Pioneers shot a team score of 322 (+44) to finish with a three-round total of 934 (+70). They were 80 strokes behind the hosts and team champions Cal State Monterey Bay, which was the only team under par for the tournament at 854 (-10).
Adam Stone was East Bay's top finisher for the week. He carded a 79 (+7) on Tuesday -- one of two Pioneers to crack 80 on the day -- to finish with a total score of 225 (+9), which put him in a tie for 25th place in the overall field of 80.
Elliot Busichio shot the low round of the day for CSUEB with a 77 (+5) in the third round. The senior placed 34th with an overall score of 228 (+12).
Joe Furtado-Foster stumbled a bit after yesterday afternoon's round of 74 and shot an 84 (+12) on Tuesday. His three-round total of 240 (+24) placed him in a tie for 68th individually.Â
Just behind him was
A.J. Hebert, who contributed the fourth score to the Pioneer team total with a 242 (+26) after carding an 83 (+11) on the final day.
Joel Keylor matched his teammate with an 83 of his own in the third round, giving him a final score of 245 (+29). Keylor and Hebert took 72nd and 75th place, respectively.
East Bay will conclude its fall schedule next week when the team travels to Hawaii for the Dennis Rose Invitational on Oct. 28 and 29.   Â
