HAYWARD, Calif. - Following five consecutive CCAA home games, the Pioneer men's basketball team, 3-2 CCAA and 5-4 overall, will play a pair of CCAA road games against Cal Poly Pomona on January 5 and San Francisco State on January 7. Both games will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The San Francisco State game on January 7 will be the “Battle of the Bay”. The Gators have won the last four meetings between the schools.

Cal State East Bay, averaging 81 points a game, leads the CCAA in scoring average. The Pioneers also top the CCAA in turnover margin (+7.40), assist/turnover ratio (1.4) and are tied with Chico State for top honors in 3-point field goals made (7.8pg). 

Roshun Wynne is third in scoring in the CCAA averaging 16.6 points a game. Wynne leads the conference with 2.6 steals a game.

Mark Samuels is eighth in scoring at 13.8 points per game while Jason Smith ranks 21st with a 10.6 average. Smith is second in the CCAA with 2.6 three-pointers a game.

Quinton Lilley, shooting 67.9% from the field, is second in the CCAA in field goal percentage.

Cal Poly Pomona leads the CCAA with a perfect 5-0 record. The Broncos are undefeated for the season at 8-0. Cal Poly Pomona features the fourth leading scorer in the CCAA, Mitchell Anderson, who is averaging 16 points a game.

San Francisco State is 0-5 in CCAA play and 2-9 for the season. The Gators are led by Nefi Perdomo, the sixth leading scorer in the CCAA at 15 points a game. David Love is the second leading rebounder in the CCAA at 7.4 rebounds a game.
