East Bay Ties for 13th in Final Tournament Ahead of CCAA Championships

TURLOCK, Calif. -
The Pioneer men's golf team finished tied for 13th at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational on April 11-12. The tournament, held at the Turlock Country Club, consisted of 16 NCAA and NAIA institutions.

Cal State East Bay and Hawaii-Hilo finished in a two-way tie compiling a three-round score of 50-over par-914. Cal State Monterey Bay captured the invitational with a six-over par-870.

Justin Tambunting fired a two-under par-70 in the third round and ended up in a three-way in 16th place at five-over 221.

Jeff Cornez tied with two other golfers in 62nd place. Cornez shot a 17-over 233 including a one-under 71 in the second round.

Scott Gregory and Nick Allen shot 19 over for the tournament to tie with five other golfers in 68th.

A.J. Warren finished 20 over and tied with two other golfers in 76th.

The Pioneers will compete in the CCAA Championships beginning on April 17.
