Navarrete had an impressive debut for the Cal State East Bay men's basketball team this weekend, as the Pioneers defeated both their opponents at the Veterans Day Classic in Hayward. It's the first time since 2011 that CSUEB has started a season 2-0. Navarrete notched a double-double in his first game as a Pioneer, leading all players with 18 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Notre Dame de Namur on Friday. He reached double figures again in a 15-point win over Holy Names on Saturday, added 10 points and five boards. For the week, the junior shot 57.1 percent from the field, averaged 14.0 points and 7.5 rebounds, and contributed three steals.
