Gabe Kindred takes home his second Athlete of the Week award this season after leading to Pioneer men's basketball team to a home split this past weekend. The Oakland native, who leads the Pioneers and ranks fourth in the CCAA in scoring at 19.3 points per game, notched 11 in a loss to defending conference champion Cal Poly Pomona on Friday. Kindred led the team with five rebounds, four assists, and two steals in that contest. The following night, the senior guard was the best player on the floor as the Pioneers took down Humboldt State 89-81. Kindred had 24 points and four steals in the victory. He was 8-for-12 from the field, including 3-for-3 from long distance. Kindred has now scored in double figures in all 12 games and has posted 20+ points five times.Â
