Nico Hurtado joined Cal State East Bay in 2023 as Assistant Athletic Trainer.
Prior to East Bay, Hurtado served as Head Athletic Trainer at San Clemente High School and Assistant Athletic Trainer at Mt. San Antonio College.
"My passion for athletic training came from my own major injuries as a student-athlete. Family is what is most important to me. Without the love and support of my family I would not be where I am today. They pushed me when everything seemed like it was falling apart. Everything I do is to help represent my family name to the best of my abilities. I get to wake up everyday and do what I love to the point where it doesn't feel like I am going to work, I just get to be around great people. Rest in peace my beautiful sister, LONG LIVE RAY RAY!"
Hurtado earned his bachelor's degree from Chico State in Kinesiology and his MSAT from California Baptist University.
