Abbey Briggs joined the Cal State East Bay Athletics Department in 2022 as a Facilities and Events Intern and was later promoted to Facilities and Events Coordinator. In her current role, Briggs oversees the planning and execution of all home athletic events, ensuring an exceptional game-day experience for Cal State East Bay student-athletes, coaches, officials, visiting teams, and fans. She manages and trains the department's game-day staff while coordinating with coaches, officials, visiting teams, campus departments, and external partners to ensure each event is executed efficiently and that all competition venues meet NCAA and California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) standards.
Briggs also serves as the department's All Sports Camp Director, where she oversees camp operations, manages camp staff, and coordinates daily logistics to provide a safe, organized, and memorable experience for campers and their families.
In addition to her day-to-day responsibilities, Briggs has played an integral role in hosting NCAA postseason competition at Cal State East Bay. She helped coordinate event operations and logistics for the 2025 and 2026 NCAA Division II Softball West Regionals and the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball West Regional.
Prior to joining the Pioneers, Briggs gained experience as a Game Operations Intern at Menlo College.
A 2021 graduate of Menlo College, Briggs earned her bachelor's degree in Sport Management. While at Menlo, she competed as a middle blocker for the Oaks volleyball program. Before transferring to Menlo, Briggs played two seasons at Fresno City College, where she helped lead the Rams to the 2018 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Championship match and earned Second Team All-Central Valley Conference honors.
