Former CSUEB water polo player Jayme Pekarske returned in 2018 for her second stint as an assistant coach. Sher previously served on the coaching staff from 2013-16. As a student-athletes, Pekarske was a Division II First Team All-American, All-Conference Honorable Mention selection, and All-Academic Team honoree during her Pioneer playing career from 2011-12.
In her final two seasons as the starting goalkeeper she posted 300-plus saves in each campaign. She ranks second all-time in program history with 662 career saves.
Pekarske recently earned her Master’s degree at Cal State East Bay. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Teacher Education.
The Riverside, Calif., native attended Polytechnic High School. Her interests include exercise and early childhood education.
