Clarissa Wandinger

Clarissa Wandinger joined Cal State East Bay Water Polo for the 2024 season. She previously served as a graduate assistant for sports marketing at San Jose State University and has coached 16s girls water polo at West Valley Club Water Polo since 2018.

Wandinger brings a broad range of experience from coaching high school girls at large scale tournaments such as Junior Olympics, to coaching 12u at local tournaments. She has also taken teams abroad to tournaments in Europe as well as other states such as Hawaii. Serving in assistant roles and head coach roles as necessary have helped expand her knowledge of the game and learn about how to better lead student-athletes to be successful water polo players and well-rounded individuals.

Under Wandinger's guidance, multiple athletes have committed or are playing college water polo from junior college to NCAA Division I. An abundance of athletes coached by Wandinger have also been named to their all league team at their respective high schools.

While at SJSU, Wandinger was a five-time Academic All-American, four-time MPSF All-Academic Team honoree, two-time captain and once was named Offensive MVP. For three seasons with the Spartans, she led the team in drawn ejections.

Wandinger earned a B.S. in Business Marketing and an MBA, both received from San Jose State University.

Before SJSU, Wandinger attended Washington High School in Fremont, California.Â
