Eryka Karz enters her first season as an assistant coach for Cal State East Bay Swim in 2016-17. She joins the Pioneers after spending the 2015-16 season as a volunteer assistant for the men's swimming and diving team at Ohio State. She also served as site director for the Bill Wadley Swim Academy throughout the season.
Prior to that, Karz spent four years as an assistant boy's and girl's swimming coach at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Ill., her home state. There she headed up the Junior Varsity program and assisted with the varsity team, helping them capture the school's first Illinois State Championship in 2014.
Karz competed as a Division I student-athlete on the swimming and diving team at the University of Vermont, graduating in 2008. She earned a B.S. in English and Early Childhood Education, and spent four years as a teacher at Glencoe Junior Kindergarten while she began her coaching career.
