Jessica Clinton was joined the coaching staff as Assistant Women's Soccer Coach for Cal State East Bay in August 2023.
Clinton brings a wealth of soccer experience to the Pioneers, including coaching at the professional, collegiate and club levels.
In 2023, Clinton was named the first head coach in the history of Oakland Soul SC.
Before coaching the Soul, Clinton's coaching experience includes:
- Director of Soccer - South Shore Select (Girls Soccer Academy near Boston) - 2022-2023
- Associate Head Coach - Boston University - 2007-2014, 2022
- Head Coach - Fordham University - 2014-2021
- Assistant Coach - St. John's University - 2006-2007
Throughout her coaching career, multiple players under her guidance went on to play professional soccer in NWSL and European Leagues, with some even appearing in World Cup competition.
As a goalkeeper for BU, Clinton sits atop the school record book for saves in a season (98) and saves in a career (312). She ranks seventh in Terrier history in goals-against-average (1.10) and sixth in career save percentage (.802). She was the 2003 America East Goalkeeper of the Year and a two-time All-Conference First Team honoree. Clinton also was named to the NSCAA All-Northeast Region Team as a senior.
In 2003, she trained with the Boston Breakers of the Women's United Soccer Association.
Clinton is originally from Valley Stream, New York where she attended Valley Stream Central High School.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Administration in 2004 from Boston University.
Clinton holds a US Soccer C and B License as well as a United Soccer Coaches National and Advanced National Diploma.
