Sam Duran

Sam Duran joined the Pioneers as an assistant coach in August of 2018 after spending the previous three seasons as an assistant at CSU Bakersfield.

At Bakersfield, she worked with the infielders, helped run practices, and performed a variety of team operations duties. During that time, she also completed her master's degree in public administration.

Prior to that, she spent one season as a volunteer assistant at San Diego State.

Duran earned her undergraduate degree in political science from UCLA, where she competed on the softball team for four years. She appeared in 151 games during her collegiate career, made the NCAA Division I Regionals all four years, and helped the Bruins reach the 2015 Women's College World Series.

A naive of Whittier, Calif., Duran was a four-time All-Rio League selection at California High School. She led the Condors to back-to-back undefeated seasons and named League MVP as a senior in 2011.Â
