Luis Loza

Luis Loza enters his fourth season with the Pioneer softball coaching staff in 2015-16. His primary focus for this year's squad include defense and recruiting.

Loza started coaching at the age of 24 for San Lorenzo National Little League Baseball. He coached there for six years, including two seasons as head coach of the 10-12 year old All Star Teams. Loza also coached the First Major Team in over 50 years for San Lorenzo National to win the Tournament Of Champions & capture four championship flags.

Loza started coaching travel ball with the San Lorenzo Outlaws which later became known as Bases Loaded Baseball. He was a coach on the San Lorenzo Outlaws for three years working with the middle infielders, but also assisted in all aspects of the game.

Recently, Loza coached in the Hayward Softball League. During his first year, Luis helped develop the girls with the fundamentals of the game. He coached the Hayward’s East Bay Impact 12&U travel ball team, and led his club to seven local first place tournament finishes during the 2011-12 season. During the summer, Loza coached the NorCal Craze 14u before ending up this past fall season with his current team, 18&U Gold East Bay Impact.

Born and raised in Hayward, Loza graduated from Mt. Eden High School in 1993. He played two years of varsity baseball for the Monarchs. After High School, Loza played Semi-Pro baseball for numerous teams out of the Bay Area for the next 15 years. He was on one championship team during those years.
