Joshua Clark enters his first season as an assistant coach for Cal State East Bay's cross country and track & field teams in 2019-20. He spent the previous two seasons as assistant coach at Rhodes College (DIII). 

Clark helped the men's cross country team qualify for the Cross Country Nationals in 2017 & 2018. He aided in coaching the first ever men's cross country All-American (Toler Freyaldenhoven, 2018) and also helped the men's cross country team to their highest finish in program history in 2018. The men and women teams both won multiple Southern Athletic Association (SAA) conference championships: Cross Country (Men, 2017, 2018), Outdoor Track & Field (Men 2018, 2019) ; (Women 2018, 2019). 

Clark was a student-athlete at Washington University in St. Louis prior to beginning his coaching career. He competed on both the men's cross country and track & field teams. He is a 4-time All-American in cross country and outdoor track and a 2-time All-American in indoor track as well as two-year team captain. Clark won the Indoor National Championship in the Distance Medley Relay and graduated in 2016 as the school's record holder in the indoor medley (9:59), indoor mile (4:12) and outdoor 1500 (3:46). He is also a 7-time University Athletic Association (UAA) conference champion: 1-time in cross country, 3-time indoor track and 3-time outdoor track. Upon graduating, Clark spent one season as Volunteer Assistant Coach at Washington University in which the women's team won the indoor and outdoor National Championship. That same season the women's cross country team placed 2nd at Nationals and the men's finished 4th. Clark helped produce 28 All-Americans and four national champions. 

Clark is a native of Edwardsburg, Michigan and he graduated from Washington University with a degree in Chemical and Environmental Engineering.
